SMM03, March 4 / PRNewswire-Asianet /-- recently, Wang Li, deputy director of the Technical quality Center of Chinalco Shenyang Nonferrous Metals processing Co., Ltd., as a rare female representative of the National people's Congress in the non-ferrous industry, has brought new voices to the industry. She said that this year's focus will be on the development of high-end equipment and technology in the non-ferrous industry, and she called for the inclusion of high-end non-ferrous metal equipment in the national focus on supporting high-tech areas to promote the sustainable and high-quality development of the high-end equipment manufacturing industry. Wang Li suggested that "the preparation, products and deep processing technology of metal and metal matrix composites" should be incorporated into the new materials when revising the "high-tech fields supported by the state".

Wang Li, Deputy Director of Technical quality Center of Chinalco Shenyang Nonferrous Metal processing Co., Ltd.

As a rare female representative of the National people's Congress in the non-ferrous industry, Wang Li, deputy director of the Technical quality Center of Chinalco Shenyang Nonferrous Metals processing Co., Ltd., was unable to attend the two sessions last year due to the impact of the local epidemic, but under the condition that the national epidemic prevention and control was effectively controlled, she returned to the two sessions this year and brought new voices to the industry. "I came prepared." Wang Li said confidently: "my focus this year is on the development of high-end equipment and technology in the non-ferrous industry. I call for the inclusion of high-end non-ferrous metal equipment in the national focus on supporting high-tech fields. We will promote the sustainable and high-quality development of the high-end equipment manufacturing industry."

At present, China's economy is showing a trend of rapid development. With the growth of strategic emerging industries, high-end equipment manufacturing of non-ferrous metals has become an important support to ensure the development of national defense and aerospace. In recent years, by means of independent innovation, integrated innovation and digestion and absorption innovation, the international competitiveness and influence of China's non-ferrous metal high-end equipment manufacturing industry have been continuously enhanced. some products basically meet the demand for high-end products in key areas such as national major projects and strategic industries. Wang Li said that the pressure vessels and pipe fittings produced by special materials such as titanium, zirconium, nickel, copper and their composite materials are all components needed for high-end equipment of non-ferrous metals. The non-ferrous metal high-end equipment produced by it mainly provides all kinds of pressure-bearing, corrosion-resistant, wear-resistant, high (low) temperature resistant reactors, heat exchangers, towers, storage tanks, mixers, pipe fittings and other products and services for petrochemical, environmental protection, new energy, metallurgy, nuclear power, military, marine engineering and other fields. It is an indispensable "high-end equipment" of the national economy.

As the head of the company's technical quality, Wang Li is well aware of the importance of equipment capability in the manufacturing industry, and it is particularly clear that speeding up the development of the equipment manufacturing industry is of great significance to the healthy operation of China's economy. She frankly said that although the capability of China's non-ferrous industry high-end equipment manufacturing industry is constantly increasing, under the new international situation and environment, such as the new anti-globalization, trade frictions, and scientific and technological competition, there are still bottlenecks such as overcapacity of bulk products, weak innovation capability of high-end equipment manufacturing of non-ferrous metals, and lack of effective technical support in the application field of high-end equipment. At the same time, at present, there are still problems in the scientific and technological management of China's non-ferrous metal high-end equipment, such as the non-ferrous metal equipment can not find a corresponding entry in the latest edition of "State key supported High and New Technology Fields" (2016 edition) issued by the Ministry of Science and Technology. there is no corresponding entry in the guidance Catalog of key products and Services of Strategic emerging Industries (2016 Edition) issued by the National Development and Reform Commission. She said that there are eight major parts of the "high and new technology fields supported by the state". In the fourth part, support for the field of new materials is indeed mentioned, but there is no support for the promotion and application of new materials after successful development. Non-ferrous metal equipment manufacturing is the most direct application field of new materials, the development of new materials is difficult and technically challenging, and the equipment forming, welding and other deep processing processes used in manufacturing after successful development are also challenging and difficult.

Manufacturing industry is the center of any developed industrial system, which plays a very important role in the process of economic growth and new industrialization. Wang Li said: "therefore, it is urgent to improve the effective supply capacity and technical level of China's high-end non-ferrous metal high-end equipment through scientific and technological innovation, so as to promote industrial transformation and upgrading."

Wang Li also said that "first-generation materials, first-generation equipment". At present, part of the purpose of developing new materials in China is to develop high-end equipment, especially for the application research, production and inspection of some special metals and their composite materials, it is necessary to adopt unique manufacturing technology, advanced welding technology, special inspection equipment and technical means. It is possible to fully complete the whole manufacturing and inspection of non-ferrous metals and their composite materials from raw materials to equipment products, and really realize the practical application of high-end equipment.

In this regard, Wang Li suggested that when revising the "high-tech fields supported by the state", "the preparation, products and deep processing technology of metal and metal matrix composites" should be included in the field of new material technology. At the same time, the equipment made of special metal materials such as titanium, zirconium, nickel and copper and their composite materials will be included in the guidance catalogue of key products and services of strategic emerging industries, and included in the field of high-end equipment manufacturing or new materials industry for key support. "only in this way can the application prospect of high-end non-ferrous metal equipment be broader, and give full play to the value of high-end materials and high-end equipment indispensable in the development of national economy in more strategic application fields of our country." Wang Li said.

Proposed Mining Rule Changes in Peru from Leftist Candidate
According to Mining.com, he leftist political agenda in Peru includes several proposed changes that could significantly reshape the mining regulatory framework, particularly for copper and other base metals. A key proposal is to increase state participation in mining revenues, potentially through higher royalties or new taxes linked to mineral production value. This aligns with past policy ideas that aim to capture a larger share of commodity windfalls during high-price cycles, especially in copper, Peru’s most important export sector.

[SMM Flash] Latest Market Update on Indonesian Sulfur
According to SMM's latest pricing, supported by tight international shipping capacity and rigid demand, the sulfur (CIF Indonesia) price range was $990-1,050/mt this week, up $60/mt WoW. Market sources indicated that only a few sellers were able to offer firm cargo quotations, while the remaining cargoes were still stranded within the Gulf. Currently, some sellers had raised their sulfur offers to the Indonesian market to $1,250-1,300/mt, but no actual transactions were concluded. Although unreleased cargoes within the Gulf were quoted at around $900/mt, negotiations between buyers and sellers were extremely difficult, and market trading was sluggish.
